jr75236, I too work about 10 minutes from there. I go about twice a week or so to the creek. It can be frustrating at times. The first time I went there I caught 6 bass in a matter of 45 minutes.
One peice of advise I can give is these fish hold to structure and drops offs in the creeks. Atleast the times i have been out there, this has been the case. I have had the best results on tube jigs, anything bright in color. I have also heard of plastic worms as well as mentioned above. There is also some big cats in there, saw a few of them while bass fishing.
The last few times I have been there, I can see literly hundreds of them swimming by in schools but cannot get a bite. Sometimes they are agressive and sometimes they are not. There are some hogs in there but a lot of dinks to. Still fun to catch.
My last trip out there we saw a school of dinks and then a monster swam by. that bass culd have gone for 5-6lbs easy. He was just sitting there. I through jigs, rapalas, nothing. That dude was not hungry. I did manage a smaller one though. It is definately fun to go.
When do you take lunch? Me and a buddy go often and may see ya down there. I may go tomorrow. We take lunch around 11:30-11:45 and stay for a hour or so. Let me know if ya want to hook up with us. I also here that the fishing is good along the rip rap on the other side of the lake. Never tried it though but want to.
Good Luck... Jimmy

I hear ya, wish I can get out there this afternoon. I work in Las Colinas and live in Fort Worth. Got to high tale it home today. Trying to install a fish finder transducer on my boat before i lose light.
And yes I am talking about the creek just a ways past the fast food joint. It is deeper in the mouth of the creek, as you go around the first couple of bends it will be shallower and can see bottom, but the deep pools, drop offs, and any kind of structure is where they be. If you take a pair of polarized glasses you will see them under the water. Some spots you do not need glasses it is so clear.
I will likely be there tomorrow around noon with my buddy. If you see a ugly ball headed white boy fishing...holler

Is it OK to launch a canoe/yak there? What about some bone heads messing with your car/criminal activity - I've been around the lake years ago and it looked like a rough crowd.

well i went to Buchman Creek to day got there about 4:30 and fished till 6 or so. i was throwing some soft baits, sinkos, flukes. ect... i went way back there, just past a deep pool in a shallow spot i see a bass jump so threw a fluke where he jump he hit it but he hit it so hard i set the hook to soon and pulled it right out of his mouth he was about 4 maybe 5 lbs but other then that i dident get a bite allday :-(
i fished the main lake as well and nothing to windy :-(~
i tryed everything even night crawlers and still nothing. a lot of people where fishing back there and no one was catching anything.
and as for "fishforken" Q ? well if you wanna fish the creek it aint bad because you dont park in a parking lot if you take the lemon st bridge "as soon as you come over the bridge" you will see a street that you can turn on but you have to go around and make a U Turn = and come back to the little street theres some house there, just park on the side that the creek is on and you wont have a problem you can see your car from there and as for a canoe or yak?.. i seen a guy with a brand new nitro bass boat on the lake so a conoe wouldent be a problem as long as you dont have a 225 merc on it lol.
i really think as soon as it warms up and stays warm for a week or so i think the fish will move in the creek.
sorry for being a chatter box lol

tried it and got skunked, threw my tackle box at them and nothing. Jigs, ratteltraps, spinners, worms, nothing will strike a bite. One good thing though all the schools we saw were bigger fish. Not to many dinks in there. Anyone got any advise, what am i doing wrong. Are just not hungry?

i just got back 10 minutes ago. I went there for lunch... I do not know what I am doing.
If you go right now to the creek.
Park on that road off of lemon and fish off the first opening you come to.
There will be a little cliff you can fish off of.
There are a ton of LMB just swimming around. Good luck, they do not like very much.
Maybe they are spooked because the water is so clear
