I counted 60 rods tied to the pier at Birch Creek each pole had 2 to 3 hooks tied to it.. and 6 guys running from pole to pole catching and keeping everything they caught.. I have photos of 6 to 8 in crappie, bass being throw in their coolers and on there floating stringers.. Call the TPWD in Austin and made a report of the abuse... Sadly its nothing they can do.. was told they can't work shift work.. Our State Parks are supported by Tax dollars... seems if we have a lot of money to give away to other countries and give money to people to stay home.. seems there should be money to have 24 hr coverage on our lakes to stop fishing abuse.. I then called Birch Creek Station.. reported it there.. after a lengthy conversation.. I told them that they make good janitors in keeping the trash cans that hold the fish heads taken away.. If a sign is in place stating 2 rod limit, it means nothing..cause a law is on the books that says you can have 100 hooks in the water at the same time to fish.. If you do the math.. our lakes will be depleted as fast as they are stocked.

I wouldn't just catagorize one ethnic group. There are lots of anglers from all ethnic backgrounds that know and follow the laws and rules of freshwater fishing. Some people simply just don't know the rules, while others know the rules and dont follow them. Someone doing this at a public lake sounds as though they dont understand the rules. Maybe someone should try to nicely explain what the rules are and why they are set in place.

Glad you reported what you witnessed on the small fish being kept. However, I do take exception to your report of a particular ethnic group of people unless you have proof. Just a visual of a person may not give you absolute information. I just don't think it's fair to target a group of people like that. You could simple say you witnessed several PEOPLE. No need to call out a particular country. I have fished Birch Creek pier a lot and do not recall any sign mentioning a 2 rod limit. Is it posted? If not then there is no regulation of how many rods or hooks they are allowed to use. I do agree it's not very considerate of others by taking up so much of the pier for only a few anglers. Only true violation here may be the issue of small fish you witnessed them keeping. And, the comment you made to the Birch Creek officials about janitors and trash cans probably was off base and probably unfair to them. They can only respond and take care of their job as it is. If there are staffing issues or shift timings for TPWD are an issue, then there is a problem for sure, but not a faulting issue.
You held up your responsibility as a concerned citizen and I applaude that. You witnessed small fish being kept and reported the issue. That is all you can do.
Thanks for the post and maybe if many people report that type of concern then TPWD might be able to respond at any time of day or night to correct a problem of people depleating our natural resources.

Red top lady the sign was torn down.. and laid on the pier... face down.. everyone one knows that fish there its a two rod limit.. and yes I took photos of the group there fishing, you don't have to be the one with the match to light the rocket fuse.. so like i stated its not about race, color, sex, or creed. the laws are in the hand book that is given out each year when you get a fishing license.. and its every one's responsibility to know the rules of out state parks.. Ignorance of the law is no excuse..

hmmmm...here is my 2cents.... 1st of all, I am an American, but a proud Asian descend.
I am NOT offended when any ethnic group is mentioned EVER...as long as it is TRUE... in this case, some may view me as the same group....I know I know...all asians look the same... I think it is perfectly OK to call out black/white/yello/red or nationalities....I don't care, once again, as long as it is TRUE!!!
I think that alot of us are getting way to sensitive to the point we are so afraid of offending someone, even when the offendees are really the OFFENDERS (get it...)
I like fact..as long as it is fact, I don't mind people speaking the truth, and not be afraid of offending anyone!
On the other hand, saying that these people were keeping short fish is only an ASSUMPTION... somecrappieman's post did state that ..."they kept everything they caught..."...nothing was about short fish or long fish...what happened if it's a school of legal size fish being caught, then it's all fair game. There might be some short fish, but it wasn't clearly stated. Then based on the post, they are only guilty for being incosiderated and having too many poles (assuming there was a knock-down sign)...And all this is also based on photo evidence or witnesses of their ethnic group and catches....
if I am a minor, and I NOT offended, then I wonder why so many other minors are, even when facts are presented....Afterall, we are all human, and there are good and bad people in every race. Just stop being too overly sensitive people...stop being afraid of the truth!

Red top lady.. this post was not intended to put any one race down, or anyway abuse any one's personal feelings.. it was put out to let others see how our fishing is being abused and if laws need to be changed to protect future fishing.. then maybe the word could get to the Commissioner over the entire Texas Parks and Wildlife.. to bring around change.. they can raise fishing fee's, and charge a fee to go in a state park.. so why not change the times that the state parks will open and close.. I feel that would cut down on the illegal fish taking..
