I have a 2007 2500 Silverado with diesel motor the motor shaped light keeps coming on. Have had it in the shop three time and they keep it for about a week each time and claim they have it fixed. Drive it a week or less and it comes back on. Took it back today they said they would check it and repair. Has anyone had this problem? What is the fix? The truck has 48000 miles and runs great. I use it to pull the 21' bass boat or the 33'5th wheel. I like the truck but the light must mean something is wrong. Any information would be appreciated.

The vehicle is before January making it the early modle. Last service comments were tested ECM latest calibrations, tested EGR operation, motor does not operate valve. Noted liquid sludge from EGR drains. cooler leaking. 524 2.5 , J6298 .3 Replaced EGR cooler tube and valve motor. motor sludge damaged from leaking cooler, policy D coller, Policy E motor.

To run a super duty under would be alright because the super duty would be crushed. That way I would still have a strong truck lol

I have an 06 Duramax that had the check engine light come on a lot when I bought it new. I installed a Superchips Flashpaq and would read the codes whenever it happened, it always said something to do with the EGR. I would take it in and they told me it was the fuel filter which did not make any sense to me but I had gotten bad diesel somewhere and it ruined about 10 fuel filters. I have 60000 miles on the truck now and it runs better now than when it was new. I don't know if this helps but it fixed my truck.
