I hope this is the second of what will become an annual event. With all of us having kids it is becoming more and more difficult to get together but these two are about as close a friends get and we have fished and hunted together many times over the years, some successful and some skunks. This is the second time we have got to fish this private lake together and each time it has been incrediably fun. We started off by saying we wouldn't keep anything under 10 1/2 inches, then 11, the 12 inches by the time we finished. I lost count, but I think it was 67 fish in all with two green trash fish and one huge perch caught by my BIL(pictured in the middle). The funniest part was I tied up this ugly looking roadrunner jig with leftover scraps of flashabou, chenelle, and junk. They tore up that jig, which I only made because I'm too cheap to throw away to cut scrap. When I got home, I made 4 more just like it.
That's why they call it fishing and not catching!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

nice catch Thanks guys, here's what it looks like. The other one had a few more pieces of flashabou scraps in almost every color I've ever had. Don't have the same colors any more but it looked pretty close to this.

I need one of them to help me catch some crappie
Man never knows precisely what is right. So torn between purpose and doubt, he first builds windows to let the light in then hangs curtains to shut it out.

Here's last years pic from the same lake. I'm already trying to talk him into another trip this year!
