I live about 5 minutes away from andrew brown park and I have been fishing it for a couple of weeks now with some decent luck. Before the cold front hit I had a great day, fished about two hours and caught 5 bass, biggest being 4pds and I also ran into a 13.5 inche crappie. All were caught on a small bomber Sq A crank bait, chrome and black. Since that day I've been trying to target crappie with a slip bobber. Key word of that statement TRYING, I catch at least three bass every trip out but can't get a dang crappie. But if you live nearby the pond is worth a trip after work.
By the way all fished released

There are four ponds there, one to the left of the ball fields behind the center, the one in the middle with the feeder creek and the dock, the one to the right of that with the bridge, and then another big one to the right of that. I am curious to know which one as well, cause i have always only caught small ones out of the one with the creek and dock, and nothing out of the other ones.

In my experience, the best one is the large one furthest East. I have caught a few in the others, but that Eastern one always has the biggest and best.
Fishing is about family.

I have been fishing those ponds for about 8 years. I usually fished the one furthest to the east with the concrete slab. I have caught tons of cappie and catfish. I mainly use minnows and on occasion worms. I have been there twice this year but ill be going more now since the weather is getting better. Last spring I caught a 2.5lb white crappie. The biggest ive every caught there. But there are plenty of huge crappie, bass, and catfish there. My suggestion is to keep fishing. Its only going to get better...

I'll be out that way soon. It would be nice to find a crappie spot close to the house.

I used to fish there several times a year but have not been in over 2 years now. Very nice ponds with easy access. Are there regulations that do not allow you to put in a kayak or canoe? I have a yak and would love to try it with my 9 yr old daughter and thought these smaller ponds would be great - safe and decent fishing at the same time. I've never seen any yaks in there, but figured I'd ask. Thanks!
