Chris and Bill Carey (Striper Express) put together a trip share for us and we had a blast. Great to meet two new fishing buddies, Robert and Fred. We knew going out that with the post front bluebird skies it would be a tough day but we decided to be positive and fish our best. Good thing there was no pot for First Fish, Biggest fish or most fish because I would have lost all three. Robert and Fred showed me how it's done. I caught fish but not like they did. All fish caught on Sassy Shad like lures.
Started out the day with some fun at the dock waiting for the day to start I was playing with the perch and crappie with my ultralight spincast with 6 or 8 lb test line (don't remember which) and hung into something that I thought for sure was going to break the rod or reel or line. Battled this monster for a while and Chris came to the rescue with a net. The rod was bent double and then some. Would you beleive a 14 lb carp? I was hoping it was a cat.

Anyway we set out to get some good stripers and we did. Chris put us on fish the first drift. Stayed out West and kept hitting points that went from deep to shallow. Had multiple hookups and many quality fish. So much so we had to let 6 or 7 go (too big) already had our overs. Biggest was 27", 9 lb, good going Robert.

Here is Fred with a couple.

Turned out to be a great day on Texoma - gotta love it!
