hey guys i am in Dallas and i am dying to catch some trout! Brown or Rainbow it doesn't matter. Where should i go that is 4 or less hours of a drive from Dallas and is productive. If you could recommended a guide or guide service that would be great.

Thanks guys

Call me crazy but if I was going to target trout of any kind, I would head to the coast for speckled sea trout. Stalk the flats for casting opportunities. thumb

I agree with "deckhand". the coast is a ton of fun on the fly rod if you know what you are doing. but, Broken Bow is under 4 hrs drive from Dallas. beautiful place. and the fishing up there is great as well. i know a guide that guides there........ Broken bow pics. we are starting to see 18-20 inchers again.

but she never flew to Alaska, I'm no pilot but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express several months ago and I think that most big old commercial jets could git to Juneau from Dallas in 4 or less, but I may be wrong. I can't see leavin' town this time o year when the LMB's are so good, I wanna do a Northern Pike trip before I die, but other than that I'm fine in Texas... but I don't mean to be so darn grouchy, I reckon there ain't nuthin wrong with trout (not much anyway) and I have ketched 'em at Broken Bow although sans fly rod, so go see Sid (you think I'm grouchy) and ketch some a dem browns.

I see your nefarious plan. They go trout fishing, less pressure on the bassies here. I like the cut of your jib, mister. smile

I think it's more like 8 - 10 hours depending on a direct flight or layover. I can personnaly vouch to the time due to flying up there years ago. BTW, the torture of the flight was GREATLY increased as I had gone dove hunting the day before and had some serious strategic chigger issues. I tried to make sure no one was looking when i scratched, but I'm sure I got caught many times. Also, they don't have chiggers up there so you can't get chigarid. I did catch some silvers, but it was before I saw the light and switched to a fly rod.

I would love to make a trip like that. Get together a couple of guys, split everything except the airfare for each of them. Fly to Denver, get a rental car/suv/truck, hotel and travel around that great state fishing.
