Where is the best place to locate sandys this time of year on Ray Roberts? I've located a few fish in 20-45' water but nothing substantial. Using a chartreuse slab with chartreuse road runner tied about 14" above. Any suggestion?

Look at the mouth of creeks on structure. Your slab and road runner should work fine. If you're lucky some birds will tip you off also.

Thanks for the tip. I just bought a map of the lake and figure that will help tremendously. Am I looking at the right depth? I also just put a Cuda 300 fish locator on my boat but can't really identify the fish even when I know I'm on top of them.
Thanks,

Is Johnson Creek on the west side of the lake across from Isle Du Bois park, and about how far up the creek are you going (depth of water)? Where do you get your Moes Tackle Shadow Spins? I appreciate your help.

Sandyhound,

Sand bass fishing is very good we are fishing humps, points, roads, and ridges from Isle du Bois State Park to Wolf Island on the east arm of the lake and some places near the mouths of the creeks north of Wolf Island. Best depth lately has been 28 to 30 feet. There is a lot of birds around the lake and they can show you where the sandies are feeding. Have seen the birds working on shallow points near the mouths of creeks this week. Catching all our white bass on Cotton Cordell CC Spoons chrome 3/4 oz. with a Flies-By-Night fly tied 14 inches above the spoon. Reports are updated weekly on my website.
