Caddo, after all,it is the ONLY natural lake in the whole state, and with the spanish moss on the cypress trees, wow!
A smaller, less known lake, but incredibly picturesque, is Lake Bastrop, set amid the Lost Pines of Central Texas. Beautiful clear water, engulfed in brilliantly green loblolly pines, which form a canopy for a ground carpet of ferns, in the rolling red clay hills. Quite a site!

1. Lake Caddo, first and foremost. 2. Honerable mentions for Lake of the Pines and Lake Nacogdoches are certianly in order.

Lake Bastrop. Situated in the Lost Pines. Might not mean anything to y'all East Texas fishers but being a Central Texas fisher, sure is pretty. Its the closest thing I've seen to a Canadian lake, minus the 100 degree water temp. And the fishing is great!

Being from dry West Texas. Any lake that is full of water is down right beautiful. You Central and East Texas boys appreciate what you got. JT

Texoma with its limestone cliffs, oak trees and red banks.
Amistad and Caddo for pure natural beauty. But like JT said...I appreciate anything with water in it!!

Lovfldx, Actually Caddo is one of 2 natural lakes in Texas. The only natural lake within the confines of Texas is Eagle Lake.

I'm with nobleaggie. If my boat's sitting in the water and I'm fishing, that's the most beautiful lake to me. ------------------ steve pine

The lower end of Lake Travis in the spring, no jet skis and lots of Guadalupe Bass.

Lake Caddo, looks like something directly out of a history movie about the South. Pure beauty to me. But really, the lake that is like glass at first day break, with the fog lifting as you cut the calmness, is the prettiest lake I know...it may be near you! Take a kid with you next time so they can tell their kids about these times ------------------ JC
