I bought an old house the other day and found some old fishing stuff in the garage. This was in one of the tackle boxes!

That was the first spinner bait I caught a bass on. Probably the last too...

I still have some of those as well from my grandfather!

I would rather have a bad day fishing, than a good day at the office!

Seems like I was using those lures yesterday. I looked in one of my older tackleboxes out in the garage & these are some of the lures I found..ready for the next fishing trip. The old reel is my first fishing reel..found while playing in a brook in rural Vermont. I was 7 years old years.. 1946

Your tacklebox looks alot like mine!!! Guess we're just showin' our age a bit when we drag out one of those to fish with nowdays. Anyway, when one of the new guys gives me grief, I just bet him I paid alot less for my whole tacklebox full of lures than that young know-it-all does for one on his lures today! When he looks at the price sticker on one of my "New Lures" still in the original wrapper, he passes out, and I get to select me a new bait from his tacklebox. Free of charge!!!

Congrats on havin' a great tacklebox, & keep hold'in on to them. Good Fishin',
LlindeX

Back in the late 50' early 60's the original bushwhacker was not the "safety pin" design. It actually had 2 blades with the arm in a v. The jig portion was attached at the apex of the v with the 2 spinners located at the ends of the v. If I remember correctly, the jig body articulated between the 2 spinner blades in a span of about 45 degrees.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I must have dreamed it or I am into my second childhood. Second childhood is probably more accurate. Keep at the sport, as long as it is fun. When it quits being fun, just slime your boat with catfish slime and you'll get re-charged. thumb

I remember going to stock tanks in west texas, opening my box, and the skirts on those things would just be a ball of crud. That is what Beetle Spins were made for I suppose.

I grew up in Sulphur Springs in the mid 1950s. Dad had a fishing camp on Century Lake. He sold the Bushwacker baits.
They caught fish like crazy. I remember the salesman from from the factory in Gainsville delivering lures out of his car. He said Dad sold more lures than any client they had in those days.
I still have a bunch of those lures in their origional packages.
