Went to the Vine last night. I had a couple of bites off of a worm, fishing off of the bottom of the lake, couldn't hook up though. I also was fishing a crankbait, spinnerbait, and a fake Berkely power worm, no luck on any lures. I have struck out the last couple of times on McPhearson Slough, is anyone having any luck on the Vine lately? Just wandering. I am heading back out there Sunday morning to try my luck again.

I caught this chunky guy on a 7 inch power worm, about 5 ft. from the shore at McPhearsons Slough. Fished for about a couple hours, got a couple bites off of a Zoom small white and grey tube.

I got some really good suggestions last week when I asked about Grapevine. I didn't go to McPherson, but found a nice little spot at Twin Coves Marina and got after sandies with some minnows and me and my buddies caught several LMB on spinner baits and buzz baits when they started feeding on top. If you go to the parking lot at Twin Coves, there is a little inlet right by little pete's restaurant. You can park at Twin Coves or across by the camping grounds. Definitely worth a try if you are out there and want to hook up with some decent fish. The water is obviously down a bit from that picture, but there is a nice spot where it cuts in a little on the campground side. If you park over there and drag your spinner baits across here, you will hook into something. Twin Coves Spot
"There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home." "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day."
