Is the water backup at the lake? Can you get a boat on it safely? Water level is way up from the last time I went in late Jan. The rain really helped out a lot plus they are pumping water back into the lake. Lots of boat were out Thur. b/c they were hosting a bass tournament.

nice y'all really caught those of the dock
never seen crappie caught there before Yep, I been there several times, U wouldn't believe those 2 dock sometimes hold some big slabs. Usually take my son there b/c it's well lit at nite and the crappie & yellow bass will sometimes eat you out of house and home. My son likes that quick action and it's fairly safe on that side of the lake.

Lake Arlington Report... Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I can provide the info in this current thread regarding Lake Arlington.
It is safe to launch at Ark. Lane ramp....
I was out there last week scouting. The lake is still very low with all the normal spawning spots of last year being on land. Some vegetation is about to emerge in the coming weeks. The water temp is suitable for them to move in, but they weren't there as of last week.
The lake will be at full level by June 1st per Park Office. However, they didn't specify when specifically. Chances are, the spawn would be over by the time the lake is filled up... so don't bet your mortgage on the City of Arlington and Ft.Worth. Also, I asked about all the trash (..and there are tons of trash) on the NW portion of the lake - Ft Worth Side. They informed that there is an effort to get Lake Arlington cleaned up. However, Ft. Worth isn't too cooperating in dishing out the money eventhough it's on their side of the lake that is trashy. Once again, don't be your daughter college fund against the politics of these 2 cities to have the lake cleaned up by end of 2009... Since there little cover areas on that lake for them to spawn, dock ramp might be a very good place to find them. Expect lots of people to have better luck at the dock ramp this year. Hope all boaters and non-boaters are considerated so that all can have happy outings.
Good luck!

I fished the Arkansas ramp and the Bowman Springs ramp today with jigs from about 0900 to 1500 and caught one 10" bass...
I may try it later on this evening after dark if the wind dies down a bit.
Thanks for the report!
