Hello all, I am visiting inlaws in Beaumont Mar 9 to 20th. Saw the post about the LNVA stocked pond/river. I would appreciate a location on that spot and any suggestions on flounder fishing in the area. Have the specs started to bite yet?? thanks so much, Steve

to get to LNVA go down lucas (east) to bigner rd go north you can stay strait on that rd and you will hit ponds or follow it around to the right and hit more ponds then eventually the saltwater break. have heard of a few fish coming out of the water but hard going on the salt for the most part

Fishing by the boat house on the rocks is pretty good at times, the water has to be right though, Have to wait for the salt to come up. flathead cats, redfish , stripers i have witnessed all caught there. Live bait works best. You can use green nightcrawlers to catch bluegill and freshwater drum just about every time out. All the rain this weekend will surely mess the fishing up though. I live 5 minutes from the barrier.

Hey jaredtexasrebel, thanks so much for the fishing update on the LNVA. I just got back from two weeks in Beaumont. I drove out to the barrier and one guy was fishing with no luck. I did fish the Sabine Lake shore and ship channel, caught some decent flounder and red fish. Love to fish salt water. Next time I'm in town I will let you know and mabye we can go get em! I did not have access to a computer while in Tx so I'm slow to respond. Thanks

Jaredtexasrebel, I fished the Sabine Lake shore east of the yatch basin (on Pleasure Island), there are two drain tubes that flow in/out with tide, catch these at low tide and thats the spot. There are also another set of tubes a few miles around the lake on the same road where I caught red fish. Good luck but go early.
