I saw a new Berkley rod today that had a split grip and was advertised as "designed for braid line". I cannot thank of the name of the rod, anybody know what it's called and if you have any feedback on it?
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I've seen it at BP-it's called Lightning Rod Shock. Seems like a decent enough rod for $50. It's just not camparable in terms of lightness with higher end bass rods. Not a fan of he aluminum oxide guides either.

I thought we had a pretty high mark-up here but at our local tackle store (Field & Stream) they are $39.

I have an old berkley bionix and it is a good rod, not super light but then none were back then and it didnt seem to matter and it still doesnt to me. I had lightning rod (spinning) and someone got it, I liked that one.

Agree with gotfish? the berkley amp rods are by far the best rod I have seen for 29 dollars. light weight and split grip.

I have the old orginal Lightning rods. I love them and I will more than likely replace them with a new model.
If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.
In a world of compromise.....Some don't.
