Has anyone been night fishing lately. I think it might be worth a try since the night temps are around 60 deg? Do sandies bite at night?

Yes they bite at night when I lived in Mt Pleasant we used to catch them from Bob Sandlin SP pier all night long. Tell me how the light works for you I almost bought one last week.

Studies have shown fish can not tell light colors, they only see shadows.Try our light out for more action.

Haven't yet this year, but will soon and they work great. All game fish will come into the bait the green lights attract. thumb

I just use regular lights and they work great. Never seen the need to go green. Baitfish swirl in the lights and the crappie are attracted and well it catches fish. My opinion is it doesnt matter. On regular lights I caught 22 24 and 21 on last 3 nights in about 3 hours of fishing each night. And that was just the keepers not the throw backs.

So how deep of water are you fishing in? How deep do you drop the lights down?

I guess I will just give it a try wed night at Lake Arrowhead. I have only done it in mid summer and was wondering if it will work during the crappie spawn or if it was too early. I suspend a 4 foot fluorescent bulb across the bottom of the boat.

Fish aren't necessarily attracted to the light, microscopic plankton that shad feed on are. They bring in the shad and the shad bring in the fish. I have used both white and green light with the same results. Don't drop your light too low, you want it to reflect off the bottom of your boat for wider coverage. Saying all that, the night bite is decent on Granbury right now, but the dink to keeper ratio is horrible.

Noticed the bigger ones are starting to come in 5-10' at Eagle Mountain.

By the way, PEZZ, was just by your way twice the past week on our way up to Denver and Winter Park, CO on 287.

Glad to be back home though and fish our slips again, though not happy to be back at work and have to work these few rounds of weather coming in Tuesday and Thursday.
