No one has missed anything.
It's still coming.
It was late last year too.

I know, I know,
waiting sucks

I hope your right RiverRat. We just got home from DC. Fished the same hole as yesterday no where near as many fish as yesterday. I did talk to some guy's who fished the west side of the bridge and said they all 4 limited on nice size sandies and as a bonus caught a baby pig.

It was a weird run last year for sure. Water levels really mess with things. Thats awesome, at least for them. lol

Denton Creek should be on fire by next weekend. I know I will be out there in my favorite.

going in the morning with a bunch of buddies. I have fished the west side for years. Always with pretty good luck. Is the east as much of a huke to ge to the fish?

I am guessing there is no place you can simply back you truck up and fish????

I always stop at the south parking place, cross the tracks and hike my [censored] off. Catch the fish but am taking several people tomorrow and was wondering if east side is more friendly.

One more.....what color are they hitting on? minnows? bottom or bobber?

Thanks to all

Hmmm.... I have to run to CO this weekend (might try to sneak in some fishing) but I'll be back next week and should have some time to fish. I sure hope the sandies are running by that time. I understand we're going to get some rain tomorrow... TFLO, I use a small Rapala (red, black, silver) for Sandies, my good buddy uses "swim shad" we usually end up about even on fish counts...

My son went to DC this morning. He caught a few dinks using jigs. H fished mainly the first big hole east of 377 bridge. He did venture back to the west but not far and no bites. He said some people catching keeper sandies on minnows.

DTW - sand bass will spawn in the creeks/rivers that feed into any local lakes. They will stage in the coves that connect to these creeks. I highly recommend an ultralight rig with 6# test mono or maybe 10# test braided since it has a smaller diameter (I love PowerPro line). It is much more fun catching them on an ultralite. I usually throw Roadrunners, Roostertails, Rapala floating minnows in small to ultrasmall sizes. I've also had great success on Mepps #1-3 inline spinners. Good luck!

My son and I went up to DC about 1030 this morning. Wore my new waders and was able to get to places I had to pass on before. We mainly fished the same hole east of the bridge and caught a lot of fish and kept 12 all 14 inches or better. We left after the cold front hit about 4.

to be on the corp property you do need a permit.

give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and make his wife crazy.
