I bought Fishmark 320 from a guy on this board - I mounted it on my trolling motor and it worked at first until I made a longer run with the trolling motor pulled up. After that it would not give me any accurate readings - no picture of the bottom and read depths from 60 - 1000 when I was never over 50 ft. Later it would work for a while and then go back to the crazy readings. I looked it up and found out that the trandoucer is the transom mount and not the puck style trolling motor model. I didn't realize that there were separate transdoucers for transom & trolling motor mounts?
Do you think the transdoucer is bad or just not reading right since it is mounted on the trolling motor or do you think the whole system is bad? Do you think buying the trolling motor mount transdoucer would fix it? Any feedback would be appreciated!!

The transducers are the same inside. You can use either one on the trolling motor. Some units are kind of crazy when on a trolling motor. I used to have an X85 that only worked about 1/2 the time on the trolling motor transducer. It worked perfectly on the in hull one.
Last week I fished with a guy who has an X96 I think. It would sometimes read immediately after he put it back in the water and sometimes he would have to turn it off and back on to get it to read.

Thanks Dayne
I printed out a manual - It said that running the transducer cable next to other cables can cause erratic signals. I taped the cable to the power chords to the trolling motor to keep it out of the way. I am hoping that rerouting the transducer cable away from the other cables will fix the problem?

My Eagle does the same. I have to turn it off and then back on again. It kinda freaks out when it is not in the water.

I tried turning off and on several times but that didn't work.
I have been reading on other sites and learned that you shouldn't run the transducer cable next to other power cables, use the trolling motor bateries for the power source, coil the excess transducer cable, mount the transducer directly to trolling motor without a buffer - All of which I did when installing.
I will change the way I have it hooked up next time I am out there - hopefully that will help??

Do you think buying the trolling motor mount transdoucer would fix it? Any feedback would be appreciated!! Did you make that run with the unit still powered up? Transducer has nothing to do with the "problem" Really there is no problem, the unit was pinging while in the air, and it was waiting for a return signal. Two ways to eliminate the "problem", one is turn it off when picking up the troll motor, or you can freeze the chart before you pull it up, then unfreeze it after putting it back in the water.

put in mannual depth range at 30ft or 20ft or set your upper limits to 0 and lower limits to 20-30 fee and that should fix it.

It messed up a couple of times the next day also without ever taking out of the water?
Thanks for the advise I will try setting the limits in manual as well as rerouting the cables.
Any other thoughts?

I see guys use zip ties to hold the cable and if they tighten them too tight or do`nt allow enough slack at the turning point or other points it will pinch the cable.

I had the same problem with my eagle 320 on my TM in the bow. I re-routed my battery cables, and still occasionally I had to power off power on to get it to work right. 90% of the time when it acted up a simple power on/off would fix it.

I rerouted all cables, uncoiled extra transducer cable, and used the cranking batery for power. I also either turned it off or stopped the chart before pulling out of the water - Fishhed all weekend and didn't have any problems.
Thanks for all the feedback!
