Have never used Sureshot. From folks around here, I feel it
is good. D.K. is a decent bait.

My SureShot came in, and I'm chompin' the bit to get to Ivie and use it. The bucket leaked a little bit, so I got some on me unpacking it.... I'm gonna need to have the skin on my hands surgically removed to get the stench off. It's gonna be great!

I HAVE BEEN USING DANNY KINGS BAIT FOR MANY MANY YEARS . HAVE CAUGHT MANY LARGE FISH WITH THIS BAIT ( 71 POUNDER --BLUE). I CATCH MORE BLUES THAN CHANNELS .WE HAVE USED THIS BAIT IN THE SHALLOWS AS WELL AS 81 FOOT DEEP.. BUT YOU NEED TO BE IN FISH. NORMALLY YOU DO NOT FIND BLUES AND CHANNELS TOGETHER . IF THERE IS A LARGE GROUP OF BLUES .........GOOD FISHING

South of Coleman about 12 miles or so. I'm 32 miles from the Padgitt boat ramp, and about 40 or so from Kennedy.

Spillers, Thanks for the info. I've been fishing both cormorant roosts and over chummed holes. I've souring corn or milo, depending on what I can get at the time (usually corn). In 08 I don't guess I had a dry run on Ivie for channel cats until the hydrilla invaded my honey hole, which was about early July in that one spot. Danny Kings produced every trip. There is a difference in water depth in the same honey hole this year, but there are fish on the Lowrance every trip, just none in the livewell. I was visiting with FishHauler, and he suggested it may be that the Danny Kings is so common now that its being passed up...I sure don't know. I'm going to try the SureShot asap and see if results vary. I'll be trying the cormorant roosts in about 7 - 8 ft. of water, and baiting a 13 - 14 ft. deep hole in the stumps. I'll post results. Thanks.

i think most stink baits are all kinda equally valued, i think it basically boils down to being in the right spot & at the right dog gone time. And chum does help!

MOST OF THE TIME CHUMM WORKS ON CHANNELS . TRY TAKING YOUR DANNY KINGS BAIT AND FISHING WINDY BANKS THIS TIME OF YEAR . WHEN YOU SET UP WHEN FISHING OUT OF A BOAT FIND A PLACE WERE THE WIND IS HITTING A STRAIGHT UP BANK ( 1-3 FOOT OF WATER ) . CAROLINA RIG YOUR BAIT WITH A SMALL COMAL CORK ABOUT 4 INCHES FROM YOUR OWNER THREABLE HOOK . SEE WHAT HAPPENS . THE TRICK IS TO FIND FEEDING FISH . MOVE UP AND DOWN THE BANK , SOMETIME A SHORT MOVE IS ALL YOU NEED . WITH FISHING LIKE THIS YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AS TO THE QUALITY OF FISH YOU CAN CATCH . GOOD LUCK

Spillers, thanks for the tips. I'll sure try out your advice. I fish OH Ivie more than any other lake, and I know of several spots like the one that you're referring to. I'm going this weekend, so I'll post results after the fact. Thanks a bunch.

I'm a believer in SureShot... After finding the fish, we put 5 in the box in about an hour. Largest went about 6 -7 lbs. and the smallest about 4 lbs. Each fish cost me a treble hook. They bit hard and swallowed the rigging immediately. This stuff is pretty awesome, and on a sidenote, I couldn't keep my dog out of the SureShot bucket either...

DK Blood has never let me down. I have caught plenty of blues and chanels on it. have not tried anything else because I have not felt the need to yet. I have been tempted but have not changed yet.

The DK's original or blood neither one have put many fish in the box this year for me, but some of that is most likely my own fault for not being where the fish were. I do know that once we found them Saturday, it didn't take but a few minutes to start hossing them in with the SureShot.
