Been on a real roll this week !! Bait fishing has been excellent ! Lure fishing still inconsistant. I'v been marking huge schools of fish in the deep channels on the east side of the lake. Had some reports of fish by the cross but not as consistant of a bite as out east.
Find underwater structure and you'll find fish...they are running the channels and hanging on deep ledges and points.
bait is easy for me but hard for most on the lake so dont ask smile
Not seeing many birds working but fish are easy to find in the open water.
been having very good fast action but still no huge fish. Lots of 3-8lb fish but still only a few double digit's so far this year.
averaging 30-90 fish everyday.

Ive still got a boat open (not me) on Sat or Sunday and one guy wanting to split a trip on this open boat. If anyone is interested on splitting a trip let me know asap. Fishing is very very good !!

Im guessing if we dont have any major freezes and weather stays warm we'll have an early spawn and march fishing will be more consistant than usual....If that holds true we could also see an early top water season. Best start of top water fishing on my records has been April 13th but it'll need to stay warm for that to happen smile
Heck my prditions of the weather are just as good as any weather man smile

Well my "roll" finally ended today.. had a tough day with only 18 fish...Did have 4 overs that were identical 7 lb twins but just didnt get them going like Ive been doing lately....Oh well tomorrow is another day.
Still fishing the east side of the lake...will go back again tomorrow. Im thinking the fish have made another move .. the warm weather has many of the females getting real close to spawning.. Eggs today looked real close smile
They either moved north or south or east or west.. ill figure-em out again tomorrow smile

New to TFF and new boat owner(Skeeter ZX 20 Bay). Taking the kids to Texoma tomorrow launching at the State Park by the 377 bridge. Any pointers for that area? Not asking for great secrets just trying to make the day fun for the kids.

Think he said head east. Hope you have electronics or a map. Look for bottom structure (humps or ridges) and work them. If you happen to see birds, work under them. I havent been up there since January and its a whole new lake since then.

Also check out www.sixoldgeezers.com for their reports.

I think he is refering to Juniper Point Park, East and West. West has a public ramp.

JD,
You should have got a camo boat (or at least blue) instead of orange. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there looking for that orange boat when looking for bait or seeking out that honey hole. You gotta think stealth mode!
