 Goldfish vs Minnows for Crappie

I was at the pet shop yesterday and noticed the feeder goldfish were priced at half the price I normally pay for minnows. They are about the same size as the minnows also. I was curious as to the results people have had using goldfish instead of minnows when fishing for Crappie?

Gold fish is deadly especially in murky water...
Saw a guy and his wife several times out of Lavon...they were wearing them out by using the gold fish. Gold fish is what we called them, but it's actually orange..right?

Goldfish is awesome...i have been using them for years at the canals in Irving/Las Colinas and i wore them out... crappies and bass.... plus they stay alive alot longer then minnows...i have bought goldfish and they be alive next week... just keep them cool...

I have seen time when Goldfish are the only things the fish will hit. I figure they are use to seeing White/Silver minnows and when they see an Orange one they attack it because they have never seen it before.

Shad works better, when they are on feeding frenzy (that is what they eat for a living, when they want to eat).
Everything else is just a curious bite or a mistake.
