Anyone know of any places where I can take my daughters to catch some Crappie around Sheppard AFB? I'll be up there for Military Duty and the kiddos are off that week too - so I'd love to put them on some fish - but I am not familiar with the area. Thanks!

You may be able to catch a few fishing the boat slips or the crappie house up there.
Yes I did admit defeat. Good job back to back champion

The base may have a facility to fish from at Lake Texoma you might want to inquire about. Kickapoo is probably your best bet for actually catching fish at the commercial barge, located between Seymour and W. Falls. At Millers Creek Lake, SE of Seymour there is a small dock that people fish from, but the lake is very isolated and you need to take everything you will need with you as there are not any stores located on that lake. In addition, I have not heard any recent fishing reports and is quite a distance from you. Lake Kemp and Lake Diversion are poor choices due to past problems with Golden Algae.

If you can get some directions, the fishing should really be good from the bank at the Henrietta Bridge on Lake Arrowhead in the coming weeks. I was out there last week and a few were showing up, but I'm sure these cold days will put it back a few days. You come on 281 out of WF and turn left on 1954. 8 miles to the State Park. Don't go in the park, veer left and follow the road over the dam. It will wind around and around. When you come to a stop sign.....you're there. Places to park that are easy to get to. Rocks and sticks. Should be good for bank fishing.
Miller Creek is still a week or 10 days of warm weather away from bank fish. You can fish the docks at the launch ramp or go on past the ramp and fish from the bank. Any brush in 18" to 3' should hold some spawning fish. The lake is pretty low so a lot of the brush is out of the water. When you find some in those depths you should catch some fish.

The Sheppard Recreational Annex at Lake Texoma would be perfect. Military rates, cabins, boat rentals, and a crappie house, but one problem: it's not very near to Sheppard AFB. But if you don't mind driving a few hours, that's the place to go.

I called yesterday to the Kickapoo barge and the report is things are slow. You can also try the bridges down around Graham. I've heard good things about this area.
