Hey Guys and Gals,

I am looking for a good crawfish pattern. Can someone advise me?

What I have always done is start like I am tying a clouser and then dress it up with some buggy hare ear dubbing in the appropriate color. Ring neck pheasant back feathers work well for claws. You can use the same feathers trimmed for the tail, just be sure to give them a good coat of head cement. So basically, tie them backwards that is how they move about, makes sense to me to tie them that way. I only really use them for smallmouth in Arkansas, they kill up there, I can't vouch for Texas as at the moment I only seem to have luck with woolly buggers.
