I know that the lake is about 3' low (629.6) according to the level TPWD says it should be (632.5). What does it actually LOOK like (besides wet) out there, specifically up in the Elm Fork on the flats near the 922 bridge? Anybody been up there and know about how much water is on those flats right now? Wondering because I'm taking a few days off to visit family and do some fishing late next week and was hoping to go up in there for some fishin'.

The flats are to shallow to run on the east and west side. You wil have to hit the creek and stay in it around half way up.

Is that old bridge out of the water yet that's just south of 922. I nearly hit that son of a gun on more than one occasion.

Can't run as in not safe to run through in the outboard or as in too shallow for the boat to float without running aground? What about using a TM or push pole up in there?

Its shallow. You may be able to make it, but I won't try it. Its a lot easier to just get in the creek.

Thanks...so I'm guessing there's lots of it 2' and even less...down to 6" and dry where I'd end up getting mired up deep. May have to hang back a little further down the arm if I decide to chase kitties and they're not in the channel.

I have been up there past the bridge of late in my Ranger. Like Cliff said stick to the creek channel and you will be OK. I did it in the dark and that was a task trying to follow my GPS trail and avoid "new" stumps.Ran the big motor the whole time. With the lake up last year, I forgot what was under there until it dropped this winter. Be careful and let us know how it goes. That old bridge does look mean. We need more rain.

Glad I got a Mudbuddy........

No need to worry about shallow water.

I'm not so much worried about hitting stuff...if I'm running shallow or there's lots of stumps and I'm nervous about hitting something...I kill the big engine and jump on the trolling motor. I was mainly worried about running aground out there.
