Just wondering if any kind of topwater will work at choke canyon since the winds should lay low and some drizzle is forcasted for this weekend?

The shallows early in the morning is when I have had the best luck with top water out there. If you are wondering more specifically about what type of topwater, then that is a little bit tougher. In my experiences, it seems like the fish are either hitting the topwater or not. Sometimes it doesn't matter what you throw they will hit it and other times I'll throw everything and they just aren't having it. But, by far, my favorite top water is the rapala skitterwalk in the shades of green. It almost looks like a baby bass. It has great action and seems to work best for me. You may try throwing a weedless frog into some thick cover throughout the day. I've had a couple of buddies that had some luck with that.

You can fish everyday if you know how to bait the hook
