Is the water to cold to catch shark in the surf or off jetty's on surfside or bryan beach?

I was in SLP last weekend. We also did some fishing across the bridge (across from the RV site) A guy reeled in a 4ft shark. Never seen a shark so close in my life.

we went yesterday out past galveston jetties about 5 miles from tip of them for sharks and caught around 25 with smallest being 27 inches largest being 4 between 5 and 6 feet....we did lose 3 sharks on 12/0 that were all pushing 10-11 feet...just set up chum bags and start drifting...couple rigs on bottom couple baloon rigs and hang on
