I took a much needed trip this morning, the topwater bite was okay while the wind wasnt blowing



I was glad I had my Sage Largemouth pulling 'em out of this stuff
I even had an audience

I certainly have red eyes but for the poppers I don't really think it needs any eyes, I drill a small hole to set the eyes in foam poppers so they are flush with surface & the fish probably cant see 'em. I am about 50/50 on my bass bugs with eyes, and of the ones that do get eyes they generally fall out, I honestly haven't noticed a lessoning of strikes due to lack of eyes.

I put them in everything I tie, that calls for them. I just don't see the fly as being finished until I get the eyes on them. It's weird, but thats me.

I agree they look a lot better & finished to me as well, its just that for the sake of function I dont think they matter.

I agree, on top water, I dont think it matters at all. I think on streamers, eyes are pretty important.
