My Minn Kota 101 is not running properly. The blade will turn on all speeds when not in the water, but when I put it in the water it will not turn and you hear a buzz from the lower unit. Basically it won't run with any resistance.
The motor is under warranty, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem??

If you have to have the MK-101 worked on and if Ft Worth works for you, I just used Brent's Electronics in SW Ft Worth. He is GOOD!. His number is 817 249-0808.

Thanks Rob.
tmotor, The stickers on my TM batteries say 12/05 (my boat is an '06) so I guess it could be the batteries??? Should I check them with my voltage meter?

definitely check your batteries or connections. this has every sign of a low voltage situation.

Ranger66, you need to check them with a load tester. sometimes you can use a vom. connect the vom to the plugin wire's , turm on tm and lower it into the water. keep a eye on the vom, if the vom gose to "o" and stays there. it"s bad. but sometimes this dont work.

Shane, I had the same problem with my 101. Although, I had a 101 with out the shear pin for the prop. While fishing in heavy weeds, i turned it up to 100%. The damn monster produces so much torque, that it twisted prop shaft inside prop causing it to not turn with a load on it?? Just thought i would give you my experience.

I went out and checked the batteries and they read a low voltage. So, went and got 3 new TM batteries, put them in and the TM worked fine on all speeds.
