I'm in the market to upgrade my TM. Opinions of wireless would be appreciated. I would love to get rid of the wire to pedal situation.

I have the MotorGuide PTSv and the wireless setup and enjoy it. It is great and I can leave the foot pedal or take it out, I can also operate the TM from anywhere on the boat. I have found that I tend to just keep it in a compartment in the boat.

The wireless option is nice due to being able to move around the boat. I have both a foot pedal and the key chain remote. I usually sit on the rear deck of my CC and drive so I can keep an eye on the graph. The only problems are when someone is on the front deck, you can't see which direction the motorhead is pointing. If I were to updrade again, I would get a hand control with the transducer installed inside the nose cone of the TM.
The other cons for wireless are a decreased response time and no reverse. This makes it hard to crappie fish bridges and brushpiles if it's not real windy. However, I have been very happy with the wireless fishing deeper humps and ledges for whites and hybrids. Depending on the type of fishing you do, you might want to look at a hand control unit with a transducer.
