If you go out 249 exit cypresswood to the left and there is a YMCA and the creek is on the backside of it. Its easy to get to plus there is fish there.

I would bet you could park at the Y. How do you usually fish; bait, lures, flies?
For bait I would try corn (single sweetcorn kernel on a long-shank size 10 hook), garden worms, or crappie nibbles. I've also heard that a small sliver of honey-baked ham lunchmeat is a killer.
For lures I would use a small (1/32 or 1/16 oz) jig, dark or natural colors in clear water, black/chartreus or black/pink in stained water. Also small (size 0) spinners.
You can also use small nymph or wet flies, either with a size 2 to 4 flyrod/outfit, or tied a couple of feet below a clear bubble, perhaps with one small splitshot for weight (depending on the water depth). Again, natural colors for clear water, bright (yellow, orange, pink) or black for stained.
Good luck!

Try some bait, then. Are you trying to catch something in particular?
Bread will catch a bunch as well; wad up a little around a single hook. You can also make some small balls as chum to see if anything starts to feed on it.
I know it has fish farther down stream, on the other side of I45, but I dont know much about that part of the creek. I've caught bass, bream, and carp out of it after it hits Spring Creek (at Jesse H. Jones Park), so I would be there would be some up your way too.
Keep after it! You'll figure it out.

Collins Park off of Cypresswood has a nature trail you can walk along that follows the creek. Just keep an eye open for a sandbar or something that you can walk onto.
