I'll let Matt take these 2 questions. But if it's as effective as what I'm being told then it could very well be the end of the white bass as we know it.

Just teasing folks. It is just a knockoff of a rattle trap and no I am not afraid of a run on the lure. I buy them online, 50 or 60 at a time. As a matter of fact I have a picture of my fishin room on BPS web site where they have comments about the lure.

I'm gonna be there tomorrow. How is the access from the hwy 247 bridge? I have a 14ft flatbottom, 5hp motor. It rides on a boat trailer.
Is there someplace I could back the trailer close to the creek?

nope, at least none that I've ever seen. You might could push it down the grass slope and into the creek but being above the shoals ain't goin to do you much good since the whites can't get up there.

Redneck, can you PM me your cell number? I should be there between 7 and 7:30. I have to wait for someone that will be coming with me or I would be there earlier. Did you get the bait?

That 5hp motor will get you there from Petes but it will take you more than an hour to get there. I was coming back one day just kicked back and watching for gators and it took me an hour to get back. I was taking pictures of gators and birds. I saw a boat with a 5 on it up there the other day. It is a long trip , just take enough gas. If you do try to launch it at the bridge remember it might be easy going down but it could be rough getting that boat back up the hill.

I know the white bass are not above the shoals.
I can put in at the river, and it's a long ride, that's OK.
But I don't know the creek that well. A couple of weeks ago, I went down the creek for about 15 minutes. I hit 6 stumps, one almost turned the boat over.
Coming from the west to the shoals is not near as stumpy.

If you go tomorrow , look for a 18 ft Kenner with 2 people in it. I don't have a seat on the deck but if I am sitting down there will be a large igloo with a pad on it.

Redneck, I did check with BPS online and they are sold out of this lure and don't know when they will get some in. I did back order 33 of them. The shipping goes up after $100 so I just ordered 33. I checked and I do have 22 of these in case you didn't get any from their store and I also have 14 of the black back.

It stinks!!!!! We only caught 20 good fish and a 16 lb flathead. That darn op took that crank bait and put up a good fight. The fella I took caught the op and thought he was hung up and then the fight was on. 16 lb op on 12 lb berkley big game. He thouught that crank bait was lunch and it turns out he will be supper. We did catch a lot of throw backs. I will be fishin the north end of Conroe tomorrow morning.

You cannot launch a boat at 247 unless you can carry it over the shoals. At the moment the shoals are almost completely dried up.

Well Matt the just wouldn't turn on for us, caught 16 that day you were there and that was in the first what hour and a half. Second day we caught 14 and that was in about 15 minutes and then nothin. The bite was early in the morning and then it just stopped cold.
I did however catch a nice lil LMB about 4 or five pounds.
