Curado for me too. I have 2 and they wind like butter, cast like the wind is at your back and the drag is the best I've used. Just my .02

Buy the Shimano...it will catch fish...inshore or bass...its always gunna work. The Revo is good stuff too...my only problem with the revo is the a few have been returned to the Dicks I work at in Virginia Beach with Magnetic break problems. Overall the revos are solid. Im not gunna talk about the other...cuz the other tends to have weak gears that give out and an anti-reverse that doesnt do its job either. If you buy a curado or a revo you will do just fine.

Thanks for all input. I ended up buying 2 STX's, a winch, and skeet reese model. They are awesome! Love the feel, look, and smoothness. Thanks again !

Talk about a man with a plan! and money!. did you take advantage of the trade in program?
bought me the new skeet reese last weekend, and i must say it is by far the smoothest real i have ever used. All my revos are the same way, i have to curado 200s and they dont shake a stick at the revos! if anyone has any revos they would like to trade for Curados please let me know, be more than happy to deal

The only Shimanos I have are Calcuttas and Chronarchs (51 Mg's)...the rest are assorted Revos...got a couple of older Quantums (Classic 1431's and 1421's)...all good reels, IMO. I think in today's market, if you stay away from the bargain basement reels, it's really difficult to find a badly designed reel. And some of the less-expensive reels aren't bad, either. There have to be a few duds out there...they are, after all, mass-produced, precision little machines.

I think we are really fortunate to live in an era where there is so much competition from so many competent maufacturers for our business.

I just bought the new enregy PT and love it!!! Its just about the weight of the revos, maybe just a hair heavier. This reel is smoother than the old energy's and lighter. cant wait to try it out on Bass Champs on Belton tomorrow!!!!!! WWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

The "curse" of shimano is that the E is so similar in feel to the D, which performs like the Curado B SF, which performs like the Chronarch A,B,D, it goes on...

It's great that they are so dependable and consistent, but it gets boring to an enthusiast to just get a different look to the same package every "new" model.
