I am in the process of looking for a good used bass boat. I need to have the boat fit in my garage, 22ft. 5 in.with engine down is max. length. I think I have heard of boat dealerships or maybe a trailer place that might convert a regular boat trailer to one with a swing away or detachable tongue. Anybody know if someone can do this? Thanks Dennis

most any weld shop can do this, easiest way is to do a "removable" tongue rather than a swing away, they just cut the tongue where you want it, insert steel tube inside the trailers tongue, weld it to the removable piece of the tongue, and drill a hole through the remaining trailer tongue and the piece that was fabricated to fit inside the tongue. I had a quote from a local trailer hitch and repair shop in Austin (magnum trailers) for $125.00

Good luck

The second choise is to buy the swing-a-way and you can install it yourself using a hacksaw and a drill. If the trailer has brakes on it, that is optional on the kit.......

Thanks, this will give me an option if I find a boat that I like and it will not fit in my garage. Dennis
