We have put together a wade fishing party for crappie at Lake Ray Roberts on March 15th. Everyone is invited to join the fun. We are meeting at the Pecan Creek boat ramp at 2:00pm ( Some of us are meeting early at 12:30 at the Shell Station on FM 3002 for burgers). We will boat over to the area we are going to fish and then get out a wade fish. The area is great for wading, It has been very good in past years. The area is a huge shallow flats (vary safe with no quick drop offs), with laydowns, stickups, stumps, weeds and old fence lines. For those of you that want to learn and are new to wade fishing, I will do a short seminar before we get started and give you some info about the area. I have a list of boaters and non boaters so we can get you over to the area and back by boat if your needing a boat ride.

Please contact me by email if you want to join in on the fun so that I can get the boats lined up for everyone. Remember this is just a fun get together and is FREE, please remember that it is just common courtesy to offer a little money for gas to those using their boats. Besides waders I would suggest using jigs and a longer rod (9' plus).

For those who has not done any wade fishing, this is a deal of a life time.... Once you learn what to look for and where to dip your jig, you will take that onto other lakes near where you live and beyond.

Crappie fishing has a misconception by many thinking that it is an easy specie to catch...They must be talking about wade fishing in the shallow...during the spawn which is short live.

Well, unless you know what to look for and where to dip your jig, it won't be as productive as one might think.

Is a shallow water boat required? I have a 20' CC with a deep vee hull.

Man, I don't know the number Stucky but it sure seems like a good crowd. If we get enough people wading in the water we could get the lake levels back up to normal.
