While I deeply respect and even share your view of inconsiderate boaters, I have to call foul. These kinds of people are self-centered and arrogant or simply ignorant. "Mongoloids", as you call them (Down Syndrome is the usual term for the condition)are typically affectionate, kind, happy and completely void of egotism. They may not be highly intelligent but they would not, typically, behave as if there are no other people on the planet. So, without the learning capacity of an older child, these people would not act like these dangerous boaters. Don't compliment these idiotic boaters by comparing them to people with Down Syndrome. Compare them to something more in line with their behavior, like, Jack Asses.

You can't be serious!

Why even go fishing at all if you are so uptight?

I can think of a few dozen better ways to handle a situation like that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to tolerate a dumb a$$ very much either. But to provoke violence from what might be an innocent act of stupidity is just going, well, off the deep end. If you ask me.

BTW, shooting someone with a paintball gun is also "aggravated assault". A felony. You do that, and get prosecuted, and you loose your right to carry. Possibly to even own a gun. Who'd get a lesson from that scenario? Certainly not the idiot you were trying to teach a lesson!

Idle past - you can see the top of their boat and might be able to tell what kind of boat it is, but who knows, their boat could flip, and you'd be responsible.

Pardon me. It's just an old term from my childhood. I certainly meant no slight to special needs folks. My apologies and a good lesson learned.
