Do you feel that group 24 is good enough for 24V trolling applications or should one go with more amp hours?? I found some new for $40 from an individual but dont know if they are good enough. Thanks, Trent

Probably depends on the size of your TM, how much you use it on a typical day, etc. I have a 71# MG, 24V on my boat (21') and 2, 24 size batteries have always worked fine for me.

What ever series you use get the most reserve amps you can find.

No way, unless you only fish for a couple of hours a day. Batteries are one thing you should not skimp on.

They may work just fine for you for a season or two, hard to say. $40 is a pretty good price for a deep cycle battery.

Do you like unhooking / hooking up batteries in the bowels of your bilge compt?

I don't!

It's a pain in the arse, so I, like others, buy the biggest, baddest batteries I can and don't expect to replace them for at LEAST three-four years.
