Anybody doing any good out there? I was thinking of giving it a try this weekend and just wondering how the bite has been.

I may head out there this weekend. That's lake has already cost me a prop in low conditions so I'll the be the extra cautious boater!

That's why they call it fishing and not catching!

Some really nice crappie on Joe Pool. Just like any lake, you have to know where to go. My routine is to fish Joe Pool during the week, simply because I can be on the water in 5 min. from my house, and then to get really serious and catch real slabs I head to Richland Chambers. They will be way back in the creeks soon, hard to get too on some creeks because of the silting in and low levels. I have my best luck with minnows on Joe Pool. Richland Chambers I use one jig and one jig only and usually will catch two or three on that jig while your trying to get a minnow on. I think you also have to keep in mind that temps in the creeks will be higher than out in the lake do to depth of water. At Richland shad are already up in some of the creeks.

One more thing...Joe Pool is a very screwy lake, the bite on one end might be completely different from the other end. Try different locations.

Im hoping that with the shallow waters and the higher outside temps that maybe the shallows will warm up enough to bring them in. I will probably hit it Friday afternoon and unless something spectacular happens I will be shootin down to Richland Chambers Sat in the early a.m.
