I have been checked several times in last 4 months. All times on Lake Conroe and all up in the Stowaway and Jungle areas. It is great to see them out there enforcing our laws!It would not bother me if they stopped me every time i got on the water.

I have been checked on grapevine twice, both times they were very professional, the first time he asked how we were doing,I told him it was kinda slow,he stated he had watched us catch 10 fish in the last five min. and wanted to see our catch,he opened the cooler and did not measure a single fish, checked our licence and eqip. then told us to have a nice day,I dont know where he was watching from but he had to have had some good glass becaucse we never saw him until right before he showed up.

They spend a lot of time observing and you won't know they are there util they come to see you. I have been checked a few times over the years and never any problems. I have nothing but respect for them and the job they do.

I get checked on Granbury alomost every weekend during the summer. Always the ski boat or pontoon but never the fishing boat. They are always very nice about it and I am glad they are out there on the weekends.

All of the game wardens that stopped me were very polite, courteous. If you're not breaking any laws, they do their thing and send you on your way.

Well I had one bad experience last year on Lake O The Pines. We were catfishing at about 2:30am got done headed back to camp. I was going very slow just crusing along with my fiance enjoying the night. and I heard some noise comming behind me and seen some white water splashing and a image of a boat headed at me without any lghts at a fast rate of speed. Almost gave it all throttle to get away from a boat i thought was going to hit me when he hit the bule and reds. I stopped immeadiatly quite startled. He started out with how much have I had to drink tonight .. which was none.. i dont drink and drive.. just a policy of mine. I told the GW i had nothing to drink but my fiance had a few plus some in the cooler.. He asked if i wanted it the hard way or easy way.. I said easy.. He asked again how much had i drank.. i said none.. he said fine get in my boat and sit down.. So i did .. he said the truth goes along way here.. and do i want the field sobriety or the breathalizer.. i said whats the quickest way??? i was a little pissed with his attitidude.. took the breathalizer and he said I failed !?!?!?! i got very upset quick because i had nothing to drink.. then he said Im kidding you didnt blow enough to be dwi...??????? I was glad to be on my way.. Im 25 been stoped 7times by GW only one bad experince the rest were glad too talk fishing and hunting.

I was probably getting ready to be checked on Lewisville last year. When the boat they were driving was coming into the creek I was fishing hit a stump and knocked off a blade on there prop. I saw what happened and ideled over to check on them. He said I am pretty sure you have never seen this happen before and i told him no this was my first time. I asked him if they needed a tow back to the ramp and he laughed and said if it would not be to much trouble. So I towed him back to Tower Bay and helped him get the boat back on the trailer. 2 weeks later I see him again and I was in the same creek and after he saw it was me he waved and turned around.

i'm actually wondering how often people got a game warden all over you? I've been fishing for years and I have yet had a game warden check anything.
don't get me wrong, i've always had my license, all my registrations is good, and always kept the legal limit. not that i'm going to in the future, but curious about others. Fish some slot lakes. I've been checked several times on Fayette, and although Rayburn is not a slot lake, the local game wardens have checked me 3 or 4 times.

Go to Monticello in January or February, you'll likely get checked! GW's checked us out on Fork near the dam last year, they were both very courteous and the female GW was pretty hot looking!

Been checked more times than I can remember. Never got a ticket. Last check was on Lavon by Leroy bout 6 weeks ago. I told him I was due as it had been a couple of years since he checked me last. He said "wuz you right" and I said I always be "right". He checked my license and said have a good day!
I have never had a bad experince with a game warden. Always been professional & courteous.

Only been checked once while fishing and the guy was polite and fast. Been checked while dove hunting and the experience was the same. As long as you are not breaking the law, things will go fine.

I've been checked by Game Wardens and boarded by the Coast Guard. Got a warning once for an expired fire extinguisher and a "Good as Gold" from the CG. The CG were not unfriendly but all business. Met one CG crew member one day that tried to throw his weight around at the dock. He didn't have very much weight to throw though and if he had he would have come off looking like the idiot he was. One bad apple I guess.
I had one GW look very hard for something to write me up for one time. I think he was upset that I was legal. Another bad apple in a barrel of great guys.
I have always gone out of my way to be nice to the Game Wardens. I have found that more often than not they are guys that love to hunt and fish so they decide to become a game warden. They get to see so many people who disregard game laws and try to cheat that they kinda become jaded toward all hunters and fishermen. When I see them at the dock I try to make it a point to go over and talk to them and introduce myself, ask about the lake, special conditions, fishing, etc. and let them know what I'm doing. Sometimes they don't quite know what to make of it but most of them realize that I'm not going to be giving them any business and give me some good info at times.
Game Wardens are like any other profession. There are some that are over zealous and the vast majority who do a great job.
I did get stopped by some, checking for booze (which I never have on board), one day out at Port A and one was female. She was very pretty, in good shape, and had snap swivels on as earrings. My two older sons were disappointed that she didn't want to check their licenses. They offered but she just smiled and they sped away.
Oh well, some days you get put in the live well and other days you get thrown back.

I seem to get checked about once a year without any problems or attitudes. I've had one ticket - a 'fix it' ticket for not having my license on me (I was stupid & left it in the other tacklebox at home) and the GW was apologizing to me for having to write the ticket.
He also was kind enough to tell me to send a photocopy of my current license (as proof that I was licensed at the time) with the citation to the judge & it would be dismissed. Gave me the address & everything.
On the water, they always check when I've got the redhead's dad with me. He puts on a senile act & the GW's feel sorry for me lol. They still check basics, but they don't bother with a stem to stern check.

Been checked everywhere from Baffin Bay to the Red River and never had a problem.
Did have one on the Guadalupe laughing pretty good as I fumbled through the 2 dozen pockets on my fly vest looking for the dang license.
