I heard that a new lake opened by Muenster. Its a small lake that has a max of 35 hp allowed on the boat. Has anyone fished it yet? I think that it was stocked with bass, crappie & catfish. I was able to see part of the lake and it has a lot of timber in it.

I may not be open yet. I was at Muenster the last 4 days helping with the Cooke County Youth Fair. And a friend from Muenster told me it was open.

You better double check the HP limit as it's my understanding the limit is 30 hp. Last summer/fall they were supposedly catching some good cats (the stockers). It's gonna be like a miniature Ray Bob...standing timber in 20-30 ft. of water. I've been out once. The ramp is very shallow. On a normal ramp I don't even get the back tires of my truck in the water, and can often stand behind the truck w/o getting my feet wet. There, the front tires are at the water's edge and the ramp itself is pretty much just an old dirt road that goes into the water.
No fish is too good for the grease.

Nice find Cliff, It appears to of been opened last year per an article I read In Muenster's paper where a man drowned while swimming just after the lakes inaugeration. TPW dosen't have much info yet either, I am surprised there were no Crappie stocked looks like great cover, if I read article right it is a 110 acre lake , would that be too small for TPW to consider stocking??

It is open and called Muenster Lake, they just received a big grant for boat ramp and park area. They did not stock crappie yet because they wanted the forage fish to get established, it is full of catfish. I am fairly sure you can catch some nice crappie out of there, they came in from ponds and lakes up stream.
