i'm actually wondering how often people got a game warden all over you? I've been fishing for years and I have yet had a game warden check anything.

don't get me wrong, i've always had my license, all my registrations is good, and always kept the legal limit. not that i'm going to in the future, but curious about others.

it usually depends on your fishing spots & how populated they are...where i fish there is alot of people, and alot of people who break the law. I have been checked a couple times in the past couple years.

I have been checked a couple of times...

When we fished the Rayburn McDonald's tournament two years ago, the game wardens stopped us and were taking a survey on how much we spent to come to the tournament.

Depends on where you fish. I average getting asked for fishing license, life jackets, and quick look at the fish on about 50% of my trips. But, at some locations I get checked everytime out and others I have never seen a warden. In the gulf they normal also ask for a fire extinguisher. The game wardens have always been cordial enough but not exactly friendly.

6 times in one day on Hubbard, in the go-fast boat on a training day. Twice in one night on Hubbard leaving the concert on the lake. Got a ticket on Possum Kingdom for no anchor light at dusk (he was an a#$hole). Stoped at the ramp putting in at Eagle Mnt, trailer wasnt out of the water, for a safety check. 3 or 4 times on Lewisville leaving party covehe. Did I mention this was all just last year. None while fishing just general boating.

Only when trout fishing on the Guad. Saw some folks get busted HAHAHAHAHAH. Same for when I lived in MO trout fishing only. Europe was a whole different story. We always got checked fishing in Austria and a few times in Germany and always trout fishing never when we did for pike or walleye

I have been stopped on Possum Kingdom several times. Every time I go in the crappie house at Stamford I get stopped. I was checked at Mackenzie a time or two last year. Seams like I have been checked more and more every year. I don't mind though. Their just doing their job.

I get stopped about once a year when fishing. Most of the time they slow down to take a look, give me a wave and go right by. They have done a safety check where they asked to see PFD's etc. I was asked if I had any fish on board once. They guy had sat there and watched me throw back several fish before checking me. He made a joke that if I was throwing some good fish back he wanted to see what I had in the livewell.

I have dealt with GW's many times. I have nothing negative to say. They have always been nice and sent me on my way. I probably get stopped more than others because I am still in my 20's. They seem to just be doing their jobs to me. I wish there were more of them. Maybe the skiers and jet skies would stay away.

We spend one week every January on Monti. Get the ritual one time check every year for the last 10 years. Outside of that, I have never been checked on any other lake.

I was approached by a game warden boat one time on Bardwell while fishing with my Son. They just wanted to see I was legal, checked all the normal stuff, life jackets, throw cushion, fire ext, ect. I was in my old boat, never been checked in my Nitro. I have been checked for license while barge fishing and bank fishing numerous times at different lakes and locations. Never have had a negative thing to say about any game warden. They are doing their job and I am happy to see them there. I am sure with what they have to put up with their job is not always easy, bet they encounter plenty of people outside the law and with a bad attitude. I think they do a great job and glad to have 'em. thumb
