White rock,

It's the campbell and coit intersection. I always have success on the north tamk. Not usually alot of #'s but some quality fish. If you fish close to the drain, you will probably break a couple of lines on the underwater cables but thats where I have caught my best fish. Like I said, I haven't fished it much since it was dredged. The tank isn't very large but I guess looks can be deceiving.

My inlaw's live in that Twin Lakes neighborhood; I used to fish it ALL the time. I'm talking from 1980 - 2000. Those lakes used to have bushes, cattails, tons of trees to provide shade - It used to have loads of crappie, and enormous catfish. Then systematically the city and homeowners association turned it into a duck pond! It's impressive that there are fish in these lakes anymore as well. They were not only dredged, they were drained bone dry, then the cement/rock bank that surrounds the lakes was put in, more trees were cut down, more benches put in!!! Back in the early 80's that was the best kept secret in town!!!

Dangit... I knew I shoulda checked this board before I wasted my time drowning those shrimp up at Bethany Lakes. I was after cats but didn't catch anything but moss. frown

I know it's the weather got things slowed down, but I've forgotten what 'fish on' feels like. frown

Try chicken liver next time at Bethany..I never made it to 1378..I went to Towne Lake for trout and limited...If these cold fronts quit coming through every other freaking day and it can actually stay warm for a few days then I'll go to 1378...Those bass have lockjaw with this %$#&ed up weather.

Pardon me for offending you, kind sir... I didn't realize that you were going to take my suggestion (to someone else) so personally that you would actually log in and tell me off, and then tell me to get a life. Forgive me. I know I personally enjoy nothing more than reading page after page of the same question being asked because folks are too.... errrmmmm... busy .... to actually freakin' read a coupla pages of previous posts to see if their question might POSSIBLY have come up before...

Thanks for the chicken liver suggestion... I've actually had good results with shrimp there in the past, but I'll take some CL next time & see what happens.

I stopped by 1378 yesterday after work & managed to FINALLY get a fish on. He was a tiny lil guy, but he fought like hell.

Can't wait for summer.

I am going to try the Twin Lakes at lunch today. With the weather as warm as it is and the front coming in hopefully the fish will be active.

If I get an idea that they are biting, I am going to head there after work today for a couple hours. If it doesn't look good I will probably head to 1378 and get there around 5:30 for a couple of hours of fishing.

Ended up buying a Falcon Cara from a guy on the TFF and being he was in Allen I decided to head over to 1378 to try it out.

I tied on a new pop'n image jr. I picked up last weekend and on the third cast a bass blew it up. I wasn't able to hook him but honestly I wasn't ready for that to happen. I will need to be on my toes more with that one.

I fished for about an hour and was trying a bunch of different lures to get the feel for the new rod and didn't have any luck. There was a lot of action on the shallow flat to the right side from the bank but it was dark and I wasn't able to see what was making all the commotion. Could be some bluegill? I doubt the bass would be in 8" of water.

Wisco Kid: was that you in the silver Cobra? If it was, you left like 2 minutes before I caught one over in the weeds. I wanna say he was 4#, so he was probably only 3 or so. Kinda skinnier than most bass I've seen... wonder if that's the time of year or if it's something to do with the construction screwing up the pond...

Anyway, the two dudes working on the electrical boxes saw it, alond with the 'roach coach' travelling caterer guys.

Then, tonight I went to KnotAtWork's favorite golf course and lit 'em up. Caught 7, had another flip off as I pulled him out of the water before I could get my thumb in his mouth, and several more missed sets. They were all tiny, one was maaaaaybe 1.5#, but the rest were truly dinky. Still.... it felt damn good to have some fish on.

Big props to KnotAtWork for pointing out said golfcourse last fall.... I'd never have thought to try there.

Auminer, no, I wish I was driving a Cobra but I drive a Fusion. I didn't get there until almost 6:00pm last night and there was nobody around. I only had day light for about half an hour but stuck around till close to 7:00pm.

I wanted to get out last night knowing this cold front was coming in. I am going to try to get out really early on Sunday morning again if the weather warms up a bit. If I do I might look for a new place to try out.
