I know you're out there!
The building I work in is right next to a huge pond in Lewisville off Corporate Dr. Despite the "no fishing signs" we see the occasional guy out there and our building super basically told us, "ah you can fish if you want" so who has fished here? Any luck? Any trouble?
Also, the is another pond (actually there is about 7 of them in a square mile here) right off Hebron (right before 35) and it's the same story except there is a ramp! And it looks like they started to build some docks but gave up. Also see people fishing here from time to time! Any ideas? Any luck?
And I wonder if the guy who actually launched his boat is a member here? He just left his truck and trailer on the ramp and away he went.
Discuss!?

I have fished all of the water around there and I have caught, cat, crappie, bass and perch. It is a fun spot if you can find em. The big one off of Hebron accross the street from 7 eleven has some great bass. The hydrilla moved in and it has been differnet ever since but the creeks and channels are great.

I have fished the one east of Target with the boat ramp and boat docks... I was out there this past weekend in my boat and caught 1 hybrid (2.10 lbs) on a Rapala DD16 (I was fishing for largemouth but only caught the one hybrid). That water is extremely deep and clear, I have a sonar and the deepest I have found is about 30ft. About 20ft out from the bank there is a sharp drop off... the bank descends gradually about 20ft out with a max depth of about 12ft, then it drops sharply to about 20ft in spots. I am not sure if it is a man made wall, dredge, etc but it gets deep in a hurry.
There is thick vegetation across most of the bottom except for the extremely deep spots. Depths below about 15-20ft appear to have no vegetation on the bottom but 15-to the bank has thick vegetation with plants ranging about 2-3ft in length. Fishing from the bank is a pain in my opinion due to the vegetation but from a boat it is pretty easy to run lures across the tops of the vegetation or parallel to plant lines without pulling up plants on every cast.
As for the guy parking his truck and trailer on the ramp... if he happens to frequent this forum and reads this, please don't block the ramp, park off to the side of the lot so others can access the ramp.
I was going to hit it up again this weekend and if the bite is no good I was going to try my luck at creating some semblance of a topographical map and post it on the forum if it is ever created.
My opinion is worth what you paid for it...

Wow, ok so it's "cool" to launch there?
Who owns it? Just looking out for potential trouble!

Fished in the one with the boat ramp. I only fish it out of a boat (Pain in the arse because of vegetation) and first tried it to test an engine fix.
I went out there around 12-1am a couple times using rancid bacon fat and caught some lunker catfish out of there. One even snapped 20lb braid like nothing... I never have blocked the ramp (I drive a suburban and have beige alumacraft) but I have seen the guy you are talking about do that. Real irksome!!!
There was some research done on this location previously. It is private property. Technically you probably aren't allowed out there. It used to be a boat dealership if I remember correctly, thus the ramp, docks, and extremely deep water.

Is the truck a white f-150 cause if you look on the street view on google maps it shows this ramp in use and I would think if they didn't want anyone on the ramp they could easily chain it off or put up a sign. if this isn't fished much their is going to be some lunkers in there.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO BELIEVE IN SOMETHING , I BELIEVE I'LL GO FISHING

Is all of it 'no trespassing'? The side by Target is covered with chains and no trespassing signs but the side with the medical center lot and boat ramp has no signs...

I've fished from the west bank of the pond with the boat ramp a couple of times but have yet to get any action. I ran into several other people fishing there though, including a couple of guys in a pond boat who said they've caught bass up to 4 lbs.
In the summer the hydrilla by the bank is all the way up to the surface. Right now it sank to the bottom so there's a couple feet of water above it.

The main pond with the ramp and docks used to be a yacht sales area back in the mid 90's the depth is so they could take the boat's out and never worry about grounding them when the water level goes down.
There are a lot of slabs in the main pond . The water is Chrystal Clear year round .
There is a damn sorta on the north west side of the pond that separates the two ponds .
also behind garden ridge there is a damn sorta that you can drive on and fish off of when the water level is low.

My dad and I fish this pond all the time from a canoe. Never had any problems fishing here. We have caught crappie, LMB, and catfish out here. I have seen some big catfish pulled out of this pond as well. It is hard to fish from the bank though because of all the hydrilla. The ponds on the east side of the apartments hold some nice fish as well.

I attempted to launch across from Target this afternoon, loaded up the boat and accessories and headed out. Got there and a crew cab and trailer was parked in the middle of the boat ramp. Looked around thinking it may be a recent launch and the they were coming to move the truck... nope, he was on the other side of the pond.
Maybe he owns the ramp, water, etc... doubtful with Minnesota plates. Oh well, the wind would have made it hell anyway... I went to a different pond.
