Do you have a just the wire antenna or an acutal marine mounted antenna? I have decent luck with a marine mounted antenna, not so good luck with wire antenna... I gave up on radio and just play my ipod through my boats stereo deck... Great reception!! laugh

I have tried a couple of different things. first I used the supplied wire material approx.4' long, and it may sound good at a fixed position, but when the boat is moving out on the water radio channels come in and out. I purchased a rubber vehicle antenna and mounted it and found the rubber antenna's signal was worse than the piece of wire!I took it back and purchased another rubber antenna with a booster that you wire to 12v for power and the signal was still worse than piece of wire. I am stumped!!
