My in-laws just bought a place on Cypress Springs in the Tall Tree subdivision. Any good crappie around that area? I have a lake house on Fork and am a die hard bass fisherman and fare pretty well with the crappie there. However, I have been on Cypress Springs once and it looks like there is no structure. I am definately going to be out of my element. Any advice, areas or techniques would be appreciated. Thanks.

Coalhoop,

You won't find much in the way of natural vegetation due to the grass carp. The primary structure is sunken brushpiles. Look for them in 14 to 17' on breaklines and points. The crappie fishing is very good. Solid chart. and green/blue tail Jigum jigs work well

Also the bass fishing is supposed to be good, though why anyone would want to fish for those 'trash' fish is anyones guess. lizard
