Here's an update on what's been happening with the Reel Recovery program here in Texas. RR is a non-profit group that provides FREE fly fishing retreats for men coping with cancer.
There's a new website dedicated to the Texas RR program
http://www.texasreelrecovery.org/Rick Pope announced yesterday that Temple Fork Outfitters has teamed up with Reel Recovery to produce a Reel Recovery fly rod that will be available through TFO retailers nationwide by late April. For every Reel Recovery rod sold TFO will donate $25 to the Reel Recovery cause.
A group of RR supporters in Fort Worth are holding an art exhibition, "The Art of Fly Fishing" 4pm Saturday March 28th at Winslow's Wine Cafe during Fort Worth's Spring Gallery Night. Montana fly fishing artist, Derek DeYoung has contributed artwork as has Richard Thompson of New York. Proceeds will benefit the North Texas RR retreat in November.
The 2nd Hill Country fly fishing retreat orginally scheduled for next month at Joshua Creek Ranch has been postponed. Hopefully the retreat will be rescheduled for later this year but in any case all men interested in attending a RR retreat can apply to attend the N. TX retreat in November.
