I took a trip out to Clear Fork off of 377 today (near Benbrook) to scout it out for the sand bass run. It looked promising.

Does anyone have expertise on this part of the Brazos? Is it usually decent during the run? Mid March?

That is so weird...when we showed up a sheriff pulled up behind us and said he was looking for a lady in gray overalls...What is that story all about?

Well, there were reports about a women in gray overalls on the Clear Fork walking up and down the river mumbling and trying to convince people to get in the water and let her baptize them. Apparently some younger guys said sure but when she dunked them she got a little rough and then ran off. Probably just some local crazy but anyways back to fishing.

lol! That's the funniest thing I've heard! That's the Trinity though, not the Brazos.

Is there a sand/gravel bar blocking the river from the lake since the water is so low? If so - how far up can they get - I was hoping to take the canoe or float tube out there this spring.

where exactly is this creek running into benbrook? is it north or south of the entrance to holiday?

ive heard this creek talked about in some other threads, i'm curious about trying that spot once the water gets up. if it does.

it is south of the entrance into holiday park. if you continue south from holiday park on 377, you will cross the clear fork trinity river about 1/4mile before you run into the 377/1187 intersection.

Flycast...i'm not positive on what is blocking the river but I would assume it would be a sand bar from the silt that is diposited by the river. As to how far up you can get really depends on how high the water is; I actually seen a few bass boats that impressed me by how far they managed to make it upstream.

Yep I have seen boats way up in there while fishing from the bank before. I was just wondering if the fish could get into the river to spawn?
