On the advice of a fellow TFF'er, I went to Cabela's looking for the 1/4 Red Eye Shad (Sexy Shad Pattern). They were out, so I looked around to find something comparable. I came across the Lucky Craft display. It took a long time to convince myself to spend 17.99 on one lipless crankbait but I finally broke down and bought the LVR Mini. I know that Lucky Craft has a great reputation for quality lures but I have never been able to justify the expense. Unfortunately I was right to have my doubts. In less than 20 casts the next morning this happened:

The eyes are gone!!! Both of them!!! bang mad cry

I was fishing open water with virtually no structure. I wasn't bumping stumps or rip-rap. If this was the case I would be a little more forgiving but this is ridiculous. Buying the lure is not going to put me in the poor house, but you would expect a "quality" lure to be just a bit more durable. I sent them an e-mail but haven't gotten a response yet. I know they are a good company so hopefully they will do the right thing and replace my lure. In the mean time I guess I'll glue some new eyes on and hope they stick a little better.

crank baits will take a beating - either w/ teeth marks (yes, bass will mark up a lure, by rocks, or by use).

Some lures catch fish & some lures catch fisherman - if you ever want to see what that means - get some scuba gear, some lures, & some live/cut bait & check out how things look 10-25ft down.

The results might surprise you. (the cut/dead bait will almost glow really pale when compared to a live shad or minnow, but check out how the lures look & be sure to bring several colors of soft plastics)

Still hate to hear that you paid almost $20 for a lure that had the eyes fall off after coming into contact with nothing. Not sure if Cabela's will take them back but I would check if they were that much

LOL!!! Thanks a lot "Pal"!! Glad to see you got a couple nice ones. I told you that you would have a good day once it warmed up.

I am sure Cabela or Lucky Craft will warranty this for you.

Yep, we've lost the eyes off almost every one we have fished with for awhile ( I say we, because my son and I use them most of the time, in fact, I bought 10 of em from Tacklewarehouse in December). The eyes don't seem to matter all that much, and we just use a marker to make new ones. That said, the durability of the LVR leaves something to be desired, not just in the eyes. After one day of fishing, we had one that cracked almost in half. Unfortunately, I have a feeling my son will lose most of them before they break.....
They are fish catchers though. We have both had more success throwing them than any other brand.

I bought the Lucky Craft real California200 when it came out.10 cast later it broke.I emailed Lucky Craft more than a year ago and still have received no answer.Thankfully I had bought it at TackleWarehouse and they refunded my money-no question. For that kind of money their lures should hold up.

A DD22 is a better lure than their Deep Divers. I broke down one time and bought one.....never caught a fish on it, I finally tossed it out of the boat one day to make room for another DD22 in my deep diver box

Give bass fishing. $20 would buy a lot of Danny King's, and you would catch more fish.

Man I would be TICKED if that happened to me on a brand new lure. I had toyed with buying one of them a long time ago, now I am ever so glad I didn't buy one. Thanks for the heads up on that. That is a crock. I would take those suckers back.

I hope they take his lure back! But I also want him to spend 4 bucks on a bait and catch as many on it. Times like these and bait co. still sell a single lure for 20 bucks! I'm sorry, but not on my teachers salary.
