The run should be good for at least another month.

What about Caney Creek out of Lake Houston?

I'm new to the area and was hoping to get there with my brother this weekend, but if the runs are dying out, we may have to find a different spot/species.

Caney Creek was good early last week, but the bite really slowed by Friday.

So would I be better suited to move closer to the lake and still try for whites, or call the creeks a lost cause and fish for something else somewhere on the lakeshore?

I guess the real question is now that I've missed the run (it's almost a full 6 weeks earlier here than I'm used to) what is there left to fish for that I can readily get to just with bank access?

You can come with me and we will go to Bedias or the upper end of Conroe and catch some whites. I hear the whites are still bitin good at Bedias Creek north of Huntsville. Oh and Harmon creek north east of Huntsville on Lake Livingston. I am in between jobs and can, I should say I am fishin during the week.
