I am still pumped from the trip today with Hook, Line and Sinker. We left Bryan a bit after 6 a.m. and headed to Newman's Bottom to launch our kayaks into Yegua for a day of fishing. This morning's temperature started at 54 degrees as we hit the water under cloudy skies. Hook, Line and Sinker started in after the crappie with a double jig setup and boated the first keeper in short order. I decided to keep trying various lures until I found something the fish liked. The westher got a bit nastier with a cold rain, but we were prepared an broke out the jackets. My first bite wasn't until after 10:30 after trying a yellow and black Rooster Tail, green Rooster Tail, fire tiger Rat L Trap, a silver Rat L Trap, and finally striking gold with a Road Runner I tied myself with a chartreuse marabou tail and Estaz chenille. Little did I know what was about to transpire! The big hit happened shortly after noon. Bent my rod double and left me grinning the rest of the day. Yegua Mama Bass

Ol' Hook, Line and Sinker filled his stringer pretty well while I was chasing bass. Here is his stringer for the day.
Heavy Crappie Stringer
All in all, a great day - that ended in bright sunshine.

that's a nice stringer of crappie

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
