I need to protect my trolling-motor-mounted transducer from those nasty Fork stumps. Can anyone recommend a good commercially available guard or bracket?

Here is a $2 dollar fix that has worked like a charm. PVC end cap from Home Depot.

I just hit broke mine at Lavon.
Lake Lavon is 5 feet low and I have to trolley over to the docks. Hit a rock by the dock and it broke off the trolling motor transducer bracket and also cracked the back corner of the transducer. So now there is a small chunk of the transducer missing.
I now am wondering if I should get the trolling motor transducer or replace the same one that came with the unit.
Anyone one know how to tell if the chunk missing will affect the fish finder?
I am not sure on how these work.
It still seems to read depth and charts fish. It's a small chunk near the back that cracked and fell off.

That end cap doesn't affect your readings at all?
