Do you use straight braid or do you tie on a leader.

I know when I was fishing redfish in florida we used 10-15lb braid with a 10-20lb fluoro leader tied on.

It seems you guys use mostly 30lb and bigger braid I assume your using casting rel and not spinners

I use braid on both spinning and bait casting. 30 lb braid and 15 to 25 lb fluro leader. Uni to uni splice. I have 1 spinning rig for finese with 10 lb p-line.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I put a 30# shock leader on my braid when bumping around oyster shell, the problem I run into is the thinner braid tying well to the thicker florocarbon, I've got the 12/50 (?) power pro on my 4000 Stradic

I use a leader on my braid most of the time because I fish clear water and it seems to help. I have tried lots of knots and the only one that hasn't failed is the Alberto's knot.

how to tie albright knot? google search this. Then tie it and keep testing it until you break the mono in the middle or at the loop. I tie a loop in each end and put around to metal rods(socket extensions) and pull. I did this a half a dozen times and now I am confident I can tye it correct.

Boatless for minute

The lake I'm fishing isn't too clear so I use straight braid.
